(3)  Course Study Duration

Master's degree programmes are mainly arranged in the first academic year, and the course study is generally not more than 1.5 academic years.

(4)  Course Assessment

Graduate courses are assessed through examinations or evaluations. A score of 70 or above is considered passing for degree courses, while a score of 60 or above is passing for non-degree courses. If students fail the initial assessment of a course they must retake the course.  Students who  are disqualified from the initial assessment, found cheating, or absent from the exam without reason must retake the course.

5.  Selection of Dissertation Topics and Proposal Defense

(1)  Literature Reading and Topic Selection

Graduate  students  should  read  relevant   literature   according  to  their  research directions. The selection of dissertation topics  should align with the objectives of

cultivating professional talents in the discipline. The scope and depth of the chosen topics should correspond to the disciplinary fields and levels of graduate education. The  selection  of dissertation topics  should be  conducted  under the  guidance  of a supervisorn.

(2)  Research Proposal

The research proposal requires a literature review and references, the basis for the topic  selection,  research  content,  research  methods  and  technical  routes,  research progress  arrangement,  expected results,  and other content. The word count  of the master's dissertation proposal should be no less than 5000 words.

1. The selection of dissertation topics should originate from applied projects or practical production scenarios, with clear production backgrounds and practical value. It should align with the objectives of the discipline, closely integrate with the graduate student's  professional  practice,  and  possess  a  certain  level  of technical  difficulty, innovation,  and  workload.  Dissertation  topics   can  include  complete   engineering project planning and design, technical transformation projects, specialized technical research  topics,  or  the  development  of  new  processes,  equipment,  materials,  or products.

2. Graduate students should, under the guidance of their supervisors, determine the research direction for their dissertations before the end of the third semester, undergo a mid-term assessment, and present a public proposal. The proposal should include a literature  review  related  to  the  topic.  The  proposal  defense  is  organized  by  the "Proposal Defense Evaluation Committee" within each department, which  decides whether the proposal passes or fails. During the preparation of the proposal and the defense meeting, the  supervisors are responsible  for helping  students  evaluate the innovative potential, practical value, and the feasibility of completing the dissertation

within the scheduled timeframe

(3)  Proposal Defense

Graduate students are expected to complete their proposal defense and submit the proposal report within  1.5  academic years.  By then, apublic proposal defense and

evaluation will be organized by the school. Students who pass the proposal defense

are allowed to proceed to the dissertation research stage. Those who do not pass the proposal defense can apply for a second attempt.

(4)  Change of Dissertation Topic

If graduate students need to change their dissertation topics due to special reasons after the proposal defense, they should submit a written application personally and undergo  a  new  proposal  defense.  After  changing  the  topic,  the  research  time  for graduate students should be on less than  1 year. Changing topics is not allowed after graduate students have exceeded 4 academic years of study.

6.  Social Practice

Professional   degree   graduate   students   must   engage   in   industry   practice   in enterprises for no less than six months. Among them, engineering master's degree graduate students with 2 years or more of work experience in enterprises can apply for exemption of social practice. Engineering master's degree graduate students without 2 years of work experience in enterprises should have a practical time of no less than 6 months. The combination of concentrated practice and  segmented practice  can be adopted.  Part-time  engineering  master's  degree  graduate  students  can  integrate professional practice with their own job tasks.

The  content,  organization,  and  arrangement  of  professional  practice  should  be agreed upon by two supervisors from within and outside the university during the first academic  year,  and  the  "Professional  Practice  Plan"  should  be  submitted  to  the Graduate Office of the School for archiving. (The "Professional Practice Plan" should align with the educational objectives of the program, undertake specific professional practice  tasks,  and  include  content  on  engineering  safety  and  personal  safety education for the graduate students).

During the mid-term  of professional practice,  graduate  students  are  required to submit  a  written  report  on  the  implementation  status,  existing  problems,  and difficulties  of  the  "Professional  Practice  Plan".  Both  the  internal  and  external supervisors  will  review  the  report  together  and  propose  solutions  to  address  the identified issues. At  the  end  of  the  professional  practice,  graduate  students  should  submit  a professional practice report and fill out an assessment form for the practice segment.

The content of the professional practice report should include: an overview of the professional  practice  process,  insights  gained  from  the  practice,  expectations  and arrangements for writing the dissertation after the professional practice, as well as any issues encountered. The report is jointly reviewed by the internal and relevant external supervisors at the professional practice base. They assess the graduate student's work performance, sense of responsibility, work achievements, and professional  abilities, and evaluate the professional practice results. In addition, it is necessary to participate in labor and labor education activities organized and arranged by the School.

7.  Academic Activities

During their academic program, graduate students are required to participate in no less  than   10  academic  exchange  activities  (at  least  2  of  which  should  be  held off-campus),  and  present  at  least  2  academic  reports  themselves.  They  are  also expected to write summary reports for the academic lectures they attend, which will be reviewed and approved by their supervisors

8.  Research and Conclusion of Dissertation

(1) Dissertation Research

Master's degree students, after at least  1 year of project research, completing the expected research content, and finishing the initial draft of their dissertation, should apply for the conclusion of dissertation research at least  1 month before the degree application review.

(2) Mid-term Evaluation

Generally,  a mid-term  evaluation  should  be  conducted  approximately  0.5  years after  the  dissertation  proposal  is  approved.  This  evaluation  assesses  whether  the research work is progressing according to the proposed content and timeline outlined in the proposal. It also includes an examination of the completed research content and results, identification of existing or anticipated problems, and an assessment of the likelihood  of completing the  dissertation  on  time.  If any  changes  to the research

content  are  identified  during  the  evaluation,  a  decision  must  be  made  regarding whether a proposal revision is necessary.

(3) Final Report

The Final report is  submitted in the  form  of a  dissertatior. A dissertation must strictly adhere to academic norms, be logically sound, linguistically accurate, present reliable data, provide clear explanations, accurately cite references, maintain a strict format, appropriately list references, and ensure that figures, tables, formulas, and units meet the required standards.

(4) Closing Defense

The School organizes a public closing defense for graduate students. The closing defense  comprehensively  evaluates  the  research  content,  adherence  to  dissertation guidelines, and the overall quality of the dissertation. Students who pass the closing defense are allowed to proceed to the graduation and degree application review stage.

9.  Degree Criteria

(1)  Quality of Dissertation
