The civil engineering major was founded in 1932. It has a long history of running schools and a good historical heritage. It is one of the first general undergraduate majors in colleges and universities in Guangxi and the best major in Guangxi. The advantageous and characteristic majors in colleges and universities have passed the professional evaluation and certification of the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development four times. In 2017, civil engineering became the only discipline in Guangxi that was selected into the list of "world-class disciplines" of the Ministry of Education.
