1. Major Name: Hydraulic and Hydro-power Engineering
2. Major code: 081101
3. Duration of Study: 4 years
4. Degree: Bachelor of Engineering
5. Major Introduction, characteristics and off-campus training:
The water conservancy and hydro-power engineering major was founded in 1932. It has a long history of running schools and a good historical heritage. It is a national-level characteristic major and a national-level first-class undergraduate major. It passed the engineering education certification in 2021. It has high-level discipline support platforms such as National Key Discipline of Structural Engineering, Key Laboratory of Engineering Disaster Prevention and Structural Safety of Ministry of Education, Key Laboratory of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation and Engineering Safety of Autonomous Region, Research Center of Water Network Canal and Intelligent Construction, Research Center of Water Safety and Intelligent Regulation Engineering in Karst Area of Guangxi, Small Highland of Engineering Disaster Prevention and Structural Safety Talents of Guangxi and Rock Mechanics of Hydraulic Engineering. There is a national experimental teaching demonstration center, a virtual simulation experimental teaching demonstration center and a water conservancy and hydro-power experimental research base. This major is guided by high-level teaching staff, relied on high-level discipline platform, took the national experimental teaching demonstration center as the experimental teaching innovation base, and took the quality requirements of international engineering education professional certification as the standard. By strengthening professional education and innovative experimental teaching, we cultivate senior technical talents in water conservancy and hydro-power engineering for the needs of China-ASEAN water conservancy engineering industry. This major is an engineering major with strong engineering practicality, specializing in the industry, it focuses on cooperation and exchanges with enterprises related to the water conservancy industry, mainly adopting industry expert courses and off-campus practice forms such as understanding internships, production internships, graduation internships, and graduation projects, and combining lectures on cutting-edge science and technology to conduct.
