5. Major Introduction
Intelligent construction is an innovative model of engineering construction formed through the integration of a new generation of information technology and engineering construction. Social development requires a large number of talents in intelligent construction. The intelligent construction major is a new compound engineering major based on the civil engineering major, facing the national strategic needs and the upgrading and transformation of the construction industry, and integrating mechanical design and manufacturing and its automation, electronic information and its automation, computer science and engineering, engineering management and other majors. The major of intelligent construction is set up in the School of Civil Engineering and Architecture of Guangxi University, and is constructed in conjunction with the School of Mechanical Engineering, School of Computer Science and Information, School of Mathematics and Information Science, School of Electrical Engineering, School of Business Management and China-ASEAN School of Economics. This major relies on the "world-class" construction discipline of civil engineering, faces the national strategies of China-ASEAN, "the belt and road initiative", Sichuan-Tibet Railway and the new land-sea corridor in the west, takes the quality and graduation requirements of engineering education certification as the standard, strengthens professional basic knowledge education, implements innovative experiments and professional knowledge module teaching, and cultivates innovative talents in the field of compound intelligent construction with solid theoretical foundation, independent innovation ability and ability to solve engineering construction problems. At present, the School of Civil Engineering has high-level teaching, research and experimental platforms, such as the State Key Laboratory of Life Safety of Characteristic Metal Materials and Composite Structures jointly built by the province and ministry, the National Experimental Teaching Demonstration Center of Civil Engineering and Architecture, the Key Laboratory of Engineering Disaster Prevention and Structural Safety of the Ministry of Education, the Guangxi Key Laboratory of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation and Engineering Safety, the Guangxi Virtual Simulation Experimental Teaching Demonstration Center of Architecture and Civil Engineering and the Building Information Model (BIM) Experimental Center of Guangxi University. There are more than 6,000 sets (sets) of instruments and equipment, with a total value of about 200 million yuan. There are 14 practice units and 12 undergraduate practice bases that have established close contact with the School.
